I have a Apple TV 2 I stream all my movies to the Apple TV via computer iPod touch or iPad 2 all worked perfectly until this latest update it broke AirPlay functionality on all devices Very disappointed     Ruined AirPlay

Was sold a bundle of goods ended up with an app that works on one of my many devices The devs dont care about families that purchased this to use as a home media organizer Family sharing was dropped AVOID     Family sharing disabled

Ive used the app for years and love it That said my patience has run out with the whole subscription and inapppurchasebased business model If youve ever seen what these guys want to charge you for a lifetime sub to premium features not core functionality itll make you consider just switching off all your screens and going to check out a book from the library     Yet another subscription

Ive been using Plex on iPhone Windows Mac and Samsung TV for some time now Being able to view my media regardless of my location with transcoding adjusted to match my available bandwidth and down sampling even 1080p content so it plays flawlessly on my iPhone makes this a killer app for me These days PLEX and increasingly my iPhone is the only way I watch TV anymore                 Great app even better than desktop version

I had bought this app 499 over a year ago but now its telling me to activate for 499 and clicking restore purchases doesnt work I use this app daily and everything used to work fine but now its proving to be impossible     Restore Failure

I am a long time user and I am extremely disappointed with this new version The interface is clunky and unintuitive even if it does have a nicer font size The major setback is that I have lost the ability to play movies with SRT subtitles The files are identified as having subtitles but there is no way to enable them during playback This is pretty terrible for foreign movies and I am going to ask if I can revert to an earlier version For you PLEX subscribers please consider holding off on upgrading until this critical flaw is resolved if you watch movies with subs     New Version Confusion

I use this app in the morning in the car at work I use Plex for my home theater I use the app to stream to ChromeCast Im thinking of signing up for the lifetime subscription I use it so much Its crazy awesome and not many people know about it This gets updated a lot whats wrong with that its only gotten better and once its setup your friends will wish the had your setup Plex app 499 Your old PC server 000 599month Plex Premium if you like to stream your movies music and pictures to your phone AND Are u ready for this You can backup you iPhone pics directly to your PCserver automatically on the go over cell data or wifi only Keep up the great work Plex Team I Love Plex 5 stars no doubt about it                 Best app Ive downloaded hands down

UPDATE It seems that PLEX just does not listen or care about its users Screw them and how they use the App i love this new design and i will not only impose it on all platforms but take away core features because i can Lets win graphic print design awards yes pretty pictures and totally crap on the UX this is laughable just laughable As a dev hate to rage on a new complete redesign But Yes the UX is striking But does anyone do user field testing or user case profiling How can you guys take away core functionality just to make it prettier Build on top of what you have dont destroy its foundational use case Bring back the ability to browse any kind of library by folder with full file system names visible not first 12 characters Make the app usable again please     V4 takes away core features The Plex Disease

New app is so slow and crashes often I have an old iPad 2 that I use only for streaming apps Before the update Plex ran great Stable Now it crashes every 2030 minutes of viewing Touch screen controls are terribly slow to respond     Terrible Buggy

Its not a matter of if but how many minutes it will take for the app to crash Also too many button presses are required for many actionsthings could be streamlined a bit     Death taxes and Plex app crashes

1 Constantly crashes Which is really irritating when you are trying to play a movie on the iPad for your child when driving 2 Alphabet on the side when browsing movies doesnt work 3 No easy way to switch languages or select language when you want to download to an iPad 4 Cant easily start a movie from the beginning of it was last stopped in the middle of the movie 5 Cant delete a downloaded movie if you arent connected to wifi        Goodwhen it works

This happens on all my devices when watching a video my connection to my Apple TV keeps dropping and continues playing on my device              Airplay keeps disconnecting

I pay for the plex pass and I paid for the app I have a hardwired server at home and yet plex still runs like tree sap in the winter Why pay for the service that doesnt work Beta test your service before issuing it out     Great when it works

There are a lot of hate reviews for this app but this isnt one of them I love plex and think its greattheir iOS support and this app in particularmot so much Eagerly waiting for an updateagain My problems as with many out there are constant crashing I cant get through an album wo the app dumping all over itself Pleas fix as soon as you can Thanks        Not a hater but this app crashes

I really love Plex and I use the IOS app all the time but have found it difficult to browse my library without the app crashing This has been a problem with several versions now and is still not fixed Generally playback works fine           Crashes When Browsing

The app crashes at the end of every single episode of the TV show Im watching on my 6 Not at the very end though it crashes with about 23 minutes to go at the end ie right at the part of the episode that usually coincides with the middle of a cliffhanger moment Upon restart Plex starts the episode from the beginning again It also cant play audio for more than 1520 minutes without crashing which makes it burdensome to listen to audiobooks and requires frequent fiddling at red lights to start the music again when driving Syncing is also spotty some items do sync while others get stuck in Waiting even on wifi and never start again requiring deletion and another attempt to sync Previously synced content that Ive deleted in the sync area remains on the device but no longer appears in the sync area and therefore can presumably not be removed from my iPhone until I delete the entire app Another seasons episodes cant be deleted because when I go to delete individual episodes they never show up only the thinking circle appears and rotates endlessly So I cant delete any episodes until Im ready to delete all of them Who knows if that delete will even work when I try I bought an annual Plex Pass subscription right before they retooled the app ie before the above issues before it took so many clicks to locate content and before the app defaulted to the Discover area for which there appears no way to turn it off I currently regret the purchase unless and until the crashing is fixed and they add customization options that allow the user to configure the app to bear a greater resemblance to the way the old app was laid out I will continue to do so and advise the many people who rely on me for recommendations to avoid Plex for the time being        Crash crash crash

Besides being one of the buggiest releases yet the app has become one of the most frustrating experiences on my device The user experience is horrible Its like you wanted to release all this fancy UI stuff to prove that you are trendy but in doing so youve made the app overly complex and piece of garbage Do you not test your apps before releasing them Do you even use the app personally Fire your designers If devs are designing the app then hire user experience designers Im looking forward to an Apple TV app from you but if its anything like this Ill be seriously disappointed its time for you to get schwifty     Pure garbage

The old app was fine they introduced this version with seemingly very little testing I mainly use it to stream music and it works for about 20 minutes then looses its connections Its been about weeks and a small update released without a fix This makes it less than usefull for my needs as I have to constantly bring the app to the front wait for it to reconnect and then choose my playlist again and restart the song it was on I have to do this all day every 20 minutes Hopefully a fix is on its way Until then its a real PITA        Has issues was rushed to producton

This is an app that worked phenomenally well until they decided that they wanted to destroy the core use case allowing people to browse their own media simply and reliably Since then Plex has become actively user hostile and basic functions like browsing are buried 35 steps deep Streaming which was a core function that worked reliably anywhere from the fastest wifi networks to the slowest dial up connections crashes out 99999999995 times out 100 Local sync is gone Had I known how awful the app had become Id have switched to Emby Now Im stuck on the other side of the planet from my server with no access to my media Do not waste your money on this     If it were possible to give 0 stars I would

Wheres the option to manually add a server You promised it for THIS release and didnt deliver I havent been able to use this app for many weeks now Just bring back version 3x seriously     No manual connection

It was working fine until this version my plex server was just updated yesterday so no idea whats going on now You guys should do version testing before launching updates like this     Says my servers needs update

I am irritated that after having purchased the app awhile ago now they want to charge me an activation fee So just to use this POS I decide to activate Says uh oh the operation couldnt complete Try again this is a great way for customers to start looking into other options Plex used to be good Not sure if I will be sticking around this time Thanks plex     Frustrating

This update fixed so many problems namely the app has not crashed a single time playing music since the update I was starting to worry Thank you EDIT When playing music if you tap the repeat button twice in succession the app crashes I assume there should be three repeat settings Repeat off repeat all repeat one                 A

This latest version righted some of the wrongs of the previous version but there are still issues It still crashes a couple times per day on me The older versions never did or very rarely anyway Viewing unwatched TV shows is now much easier with less clicks to accomplish it Filters also work correctly again I still dont understand some of the UI choices that were made but theyre less of a nuisance than the crashed           Latest version is a slight improvement over horrible previous version

It used to be just ok nothing great treating window media center shows as movies The interface is cumbersome and confusing but workable Now even with the PC update it has ceased to function at allvery frustrating     No longer functioning

Crashes a lot and disconnects from Chromecast quite frequently The redesigned user interface is atrocious They removed a ton of features which is a common mistake when trying to be modern and fresh This app at its core is an amazing app But the UIUX and constant crashes make it borderline unusable When it works its great When it doesnt its frustrating and annoying Ill update my review if the app is updated or fixed        Clunky Feels like a beta at best

This app used to be awesome before 40 rolled out Now its just garbage It crashes constantly on my iPhone 6 I cant finish an entire album without it doing this 34 times The interface is clumsy where I have to make three actions to get were Im going vs only doing it once in earlier versions I cant go from one TV episode to the next without having to return to the home menu first or find the episode in its folder It forgets that its synced to Chromecast all the time and the connection option wont show up again until you soft reset the app and reopen it This used to be my goto app for all my media but now Im seeking out alternatives For shame Plex for releasing something before its fully functional     Junk app

Wont even connect to my Plex media server Says update needed Yet this app and my server are both up to date And it automatically signed me up for a Plex pass subscription for 499 per month F u c k Plex for its nonworking app and for trying to scam me with a subscription I didnt authorize     Piece of crap rips you off Doesnt work and signs you up for a subscription

Why are so many features from the previous version gone This should have never been rolled out in its current state     40 is horrible

The Plex app is hands down the best app I have used to stream my videos both when Im home and away Its newest version makes it much easier for everyone in the house to use and I love the new look Its way different than the old version but thats for the better in my opinion It really can only look and be great after you understand how to use Plex the website your account the app all of it I highly recommend this app to every one that streams their videos music and photos You do need to do more work than just getting the app on your device at first You have to be a member with Plexs website and have your videos setup with your account but one you get the hang of it its all worth it I love Plex and I think its an essential app for people that stream their videos                 Best App for Personal Streaming

Used to be a great setup but now like everyone else they get you hooked and have you setup your entire media library and assume that all is well Guess what now that they have you invested they start to gouge you Not with an initial purchase price which would have been fine because it wouldnt have forced an automatic upgrade no they send you an automatic upgrade to the free version which has worked for years and they tell you that you need to purchase an upgrade which you dont know if actually works for your needs in order to keep using it Just say no to this app     Really Now a bloodsucking app

I just updated plex on my win7 media center clean installed ios9 on iPad installed latest version of plex on iPad iPad says nothing available on media center Uninstalled on win7 media center and reinstalled Still same Updated to latest iTunes on win7 media center Still the same Junk Anyone who has seen Better Off Dead knows I want my 5 dollars     Garbage

They took away folders You have to choose the drop down menu instead of just being able to access content from the home screen and my sync is stuck on waiting for server Definitely not impressed Update the more I use the updated Plex the more disappointed I become The took away features and made it less user friendly The developers should be ashamed of their work     Upgrade is a downgrade
